BELISON IMPLEMENTED A TOTAL AMOUNT OF P9,568,000.00 FOR LOCAL ACCESS ROAD PROJECT

Local Access Road in Borocboroc

A total amount of P 9,568,000.00 was earmarked for the improvement of local road access project of the Municipality of Belison particularly in Barangay Borocboroc, Maradiona and Buenavista under the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The Assistance to Municipalities program of the national government provides a “catch-up mechanism” to assist municipal governments in increasing citizens’ access to basic facilities and ensures participation of civil society organizations in local governance. Implementation of locally-funded projects contribute to the promotion of participatory governance. Part of the FY 2019 LGSF is the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program, which seeks to equitably assist all municipalities in the delivery of basic services by providing financial subsidy to municipalities for the implementation of their priority programs and projects.

The said project is in thrust to improve the farm – to – market roads especially in rural areas where accessibility has been a hindrance to countrywide development. At the same time, these local access road aims to increase connectivity and productivity with emphasis on agriculture and expansion of home and tourism industry. It will also provide a better accessibility to the farmers and other marginal workers in transporting their farm and other products to the market.

The Municipality of Belison, under the leadership of our supportive Mayor Hon. Christopher H. Piccio, Welcomes and recognized the DICT Department of Information Communications and Technology-Antique for their Generous commitment and support to the Local Government Unit and to the people of Belison.

DICT Antique Officer Mr. Jimuel Española initiated the TECH4ED Center Launching Ceremony and Turnover of Computer Package last August 14, 2020 with the presence of our 4 active Sangguniang Bayan Members and TECH4ED Center Manager Noli E. Pagunsan

The TECH4ED Center is temporarily located at the Belison Municipal Hall.
